The Fans Scorecard
The Fans Scorecard is one of my personal projects. The one thing that separates Soccer (or Football depending on your location) from many other sports is the inability to look at a stat sheet to see which players performed at their top. So, I have developed this site to give fans a place to rate their favorite and worst players of each game.
The site launched in 2008 just for Real Salt Lake. However, with a great response from the Utah community,the site has expanded in 2009 to be a rating platform across all of Major League Soccer. Although, the design is simple and clean to keep the idea of the site simple, development of the site is a complex set-up. From the AJAX application for voting, to keeping all stats throughout the league. Then from the feeling of a community within the users, to the idea of accurately representing statistics across all teams in the league.
The project has been a great step in my career, as the knowledge gained is invaluable.
